Biography
Trained in Fine Art and multimedia, Hugh Davies work ranges across sculpture, installation, performance and photography. In 2001, Hugh conceived Analogue Art Map with his alter ego Marcus Helm. Combining Psycho-geography, DIY and relational aesthetics, Analogue Art Map explores mapping and networked space while discussing and critiquing digital media. Typically, Analogue Art Map projects involve creating analogue versions of digital phenomena and then participants and passers are invited to interact with the work creating networks and maps in physical space.
Hugh juggles between Analogue Art Map and his sculpture practice as well as appearing as both himself and as Marcus Helm presenting work at exhibitions, festivals and conferences internationally.
